Wiz: AI is infrastructure, even if not everyone realizes it yet

Wiz Research’s 2026 cloud AI report says AI is now deeply embedded in cloud infrastructure, not just a side experiment.

The report found 81% of organizations use managed AI services and 90% run self-hosted AI software, often hidden in third-party tools and developer workflows.

That invisibility has become a governance problem, making shadow AI, misconfigurations, and unmanaged deployments harder to track.

Wiz also warns that AI agents, MCP servers, and AI-driven CLI tools are expanding the attack surface and creating new abuse paths.
