Intel challenges AMD’s handheld dominance with new Arc G3 chips — Panther Lake silicon brings up to 14 cores, Arc B390 graphics to handhelds

Intel launched Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme chips for handheld gaming PCs, both based on Panther Lake silicon with 14 CPU cores and integrated Xe3 graphics.

The Extreme model uses Arc B390, while the standard version uses Arc B370, alongside features like Precompiled Shaders and XeSS 3 support.

Intel is adding Wi‑Fi 7 R2, Bluetooth 6, and Thunderbolt 4, with partner devices from Acer, MSI, and OneXPlayer expected soon.

The move is aimed at challenging AMD’s long-held lead in handheld gaming PCs, especially against Ryzen Z-based systems.
