OneDrive is getting an AI feature that names your files so you don’t have to

Microsoft is adding Copilot Suggested Rename to OneDrive, an AI feature that suggests file names based on a file’s contents.

The feature is listed on the Microsoft 365 roadmap and is set to begin rolling out in June 2026.

It will offer three rename suggestions in the web rename dialog and after uploads.

Supported file types include Office documents, PDFs, Markdown files, and images.

The rollout starts on the web for personal and business OneDrive users and could make file organization easier.
