Copilot is ‘for entertainment purposes only,’ according to Microsoft’s terms of use

Microsoft’s Copilot terms of use include a disclaimer saying the tool is "for entertainment purposes only."

The terms note that Copilot can make mistakes and that users should not rely on it for important advice.

A Microsoft spokesperson told PCMag the company will revise that legacy language in a future update.

Other AI firms such as OpenAI and xAI also include cautionary disclaimers about treating outputs as definitive truth.
