Spotify to Enable Cross-Platform Distribution of Video Podcasts with Apple’s HLS Support

Spotify is adding support for Apple’s HLS technology in Spotify for Creators and Megaphone.

That means video podcasts can now play on both Spotify and Apple Podcasts without changing existing setups.

Spotify also said its Distribution API is live on five hosting platforms, with more monetization options coming.

The update could simplify cross-platform publishing and help creators reach wider audiences.
