Failed Online Shooter Won’t Shut Down Because ‘Games Are Art And Deserve To Be Preserved’

Double Eleven is relaunching the online shooter Blindfire as Blindfire: Lights Out and making it free on PC and consoles.

The game gets a final update with new weapons, achievements, skins, and an Audio Aim Assist feature for blind and partially sighted players.

Despite its commercial failure, Double Eleven says it will keep the servers running to preserve the game.

The move underscores growing concern around game preservation for online-only titles that can disappear after shutdown.
