"Teletubbies" Robot Comes to Your Home for Cleaning at 200 Yuan an Hour, Purely "Artificial Intelligence"

San Francisco startup Tau Robotics has launched a home cleaning service run by teleoperated humanoid robots.

In demos, the robot washed hands, mopped floors, and picked up trash, but all actions were performed through remote control, not autonomy.

The company says it plans to enter households this way first to gather real-world data and validate the product.

The service is currently invite-only and priced at $30 per hour.
