Threads adds a 'Live Chat' feature for live events, starting with the NBA

Meta has launched Threads Live Chat for public group discussions around live events like sports, music, and TV.

The first rollout is in the U.S., starting with NBA playoff chats in the NBAThreads community.

Only selected media accounts and active community creators can host chats, while users can join, react, vote in polls, and read chats after they end.

The feature could make Threads a stronger real-time hub for sports and entertainment conversation.
