Amid the component crisis, AMD has a very smart solution: the cash cow strategy

At Computex 2026, AMD focused on extending PC lifecycles amid a component crunch.

It reissued the Ryzen 7 5800X3D for AM4, launched the Ryzen 7 7700X3D for AM5, and said AM5 will be supported through 2029.

AMD also unveiled the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, giving gamers another upgrade option without replacing entire platforms.

The strategy targets rising memory and hardware costs by making upgrades cheaper and more incremental.
