US Navy’s nuclear propulsion infrastructure to get upgrade with $85 million Amentum contract

Amentum won an $85 million, three-year contract to modernize spent fuel examination infrastructure for the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program.

The work will be carried out at the Naval Reactors Facility in Idaho, under the Department of Energy and Department of the Navy.

The upgrade is intended to improve analysis of used nuclear fuel cores and support fleet safety, reliability, and long-term readiness.
