Sony announces full-frame mirrorless "α7R VI" with a 66.8-megapixel stacked sensor, supporting "30 fps burst shooting" and "4K 120 fps video recording"

Sony unveiled the full-frame mirrorless α7R VI on May 13, 2026.

It features a stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor with about 66.8 megapixels, up to 30 fps burst shooting, and advanced AI autofocus plus improved image stabilization.

The camera also supports 8K/30fps and 4K/120fps video, positioning it as a high-end all-rounder for stills and motion.

With support for E-mount lenses and CFexpress Type A or UHS-I/II SD cards, it raises the bar in Sony’s flagship mirrorless lineup.
