Toyota to launch the license-free electric single-seater “Land Hopper” from spring 2027

Toyota announced LAND HOPPER, a new electric one-person mobility vehicle, to launch in spring 2027 or later.

Under Japanese traffic law, it qualifies as a specific small motorized bicycle, so anyone 16 or older can ride it without a license.

The foldable design allows it to be carried in a vehicle, and it is aimed at both everyday use and off-road riding.

Toyota positions it as a next-generation mobility option that expands personal transportation beyond city streets.
