Apple may need Google's Gemini to make Siri smart enough to compete

Apple is reportedly planning a hybrid Siri upgrade that splits work between the iPhone and the cloud.

For harder requests, Siri could rely on Google Gemini models, while smaller distilled versions run on-device.

Apple is also said to be using Nvidia confidential computing to encrypt cloud processing.

The move could make Siri more capable without forcing Apple to abandon its privacy-first messaging.
