Dyson put someone else’s motor in its robot vacuum

Dyson says its new Spot + Scrub Ai robot vacuum and mop was co-engineered with a partner.

The device uses a third-party vacuum motor and lidar navigation, not Dyson’s own V10 motor.

Dyson chose the setup to reach the wet-and-dry, self-emptying robot vacuum market faster and at lower cost.

It still includes some Dyson-built features, such as AI stain detection and a cyclonic dock.
