Signal added a new “name not verified” label to flag suspicious contacts and impersonation attempts.

The app now adds extra confirmation steps for message requests to make phishing harder.

Signal also shows in-app guidance telling users never to share PINs, registration codes, or recovery keys.

The updates come after phishing campaigns targeted Signal users, including government officials and journalists.
