Apple highlights 3 enhancements coming to iPhone with iOS 26.5

Apple released the first iOS 26.5 release candidate ahead of next week’s expected public launch.

The update adds beta end-to-end encrypted RCS in Messages, a notable privacy upgrade for iPhone users.

It also includes a new Pride Luminance wallpaper and Suggested Places in Maps based on nearby trends and search history.

Apple says the release includes fixes and security updates, with watchOS 26.5 also in the pipeline.
