Disney’s failed 2012 film John Carter is being revived as an animated series, John Carter, Warlord of Mars.

Mark Andrews will direct and co-showrun the project with writer Michael Kogge for Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc.

The new version shifts the property from live action to animation, giving the franchise another chance after a major box-office flop.
