Huawei beats Samsung and Apple to market with the first wide foldable

Huawei launched the Pura X Max in China, becoming the first widely available wide-format foldable phone.

The device starts at 10,999 yuan and features a Kirin 9030 Pro chip, dual high-brightness displays, and a 5,300mAh battery.

Apple and Samsung are not expected to bring similar wide-style foldables to market until 2026.

The early launch gives Huawei a lead in the new foldable format and could pressure its rivals as they catch up.
