Ukraine pairs MBDA Meteor missiles with Saab Gripen fighter to counter Russian glide bombs

Analysts say Ukraine may counter Russian glide-bomb attacks more effectively by pairing Saab Gripen fighters with MBDA Meteor missiles.

The idea is to intercept Russian launch aircraft such as Su-34s and Su-35s at long range before they release FAB glide bombs.

Russian glide bombs have stretched Ukraine’s ground-based air defenses, including NASAMS and IRIS-T.

A Gripen-Meteor combination could give Ukraine a wider beyond-visual-range interception option than many current systems.
