Nscale buys Anyscale as it seeks to own more of the AI compute stack

Nscale will acquire Anyscale for $1.65 billion, expanding beyond cloud infrastructure into AI workload software.

Anyscale, known for software built around Ray, will keep its brand while about 200 employees join Nscale.

The deal helps Nscale control more of the AI compute stack, from energy and data centers to orchestration and workload management.

The move positions Nscale to capture a larger share of enterprise AI spending.
