Tobu Railway to introduce autonomous-ready 1000 series trains, full-scale trials on Daishi Line

Tobu Railway will introduce autonomous-ready 1000 series trains for the Kameido and Daishi lines starting in 2027.

Full-scale verification of autonomous operation on the Daishi Line will begin from 2028.

Six trainsets (12 cars) will be delivered, with some sets fitted with facility monitoring equipment.

The trains will carry autonomous safety systems and multiple detection sensors and include energy-saving devices such as full-SiC VVVF and LED lighting.
