HP is investigating severe boot failures affecting ZBook Ultra G1a and EliteBook X G1a laptops after BIOS updates through Windows Update.

Users reported boot loops and freezes following BIOS versions 01.04.03, 01.04.05, 01.03.11, 01.05.00, and 01.05.01.

HP says it is aware of the issue and advises affected customers to contact support.

The incident raises concerns about forced firmware updates that can leave premium laptops unusable.
