Intel’s Diamond Rapids Xeon Slips to 2027 With 512 Cores and 16-Channel Memory, Coral Rapids Brings Back SMT in 2028

Intel has reportedly delayed Diamond Rapids Xeon to 2027, signaling a later-than-expected server CPU rollout.

The chip is said to target up to 512 cores on a 16-channel memory platform, raising the bar for core count and bandwidth.

Intel is also planning Coral Rapids for 2028, which would bring SMT back on 8-channel systems.
