MG will manufacture in Galicia: the Chinese brand that sells the most cars in Europe chooses Spain

MG has confirmed Galicia, in northern Spain, as the site of its return to vehicle manufacturing in Europe.

The project is expected to involve about €200 million in investment, start around 2028, and reach capacity of up to 120,000 vehicles a year.

A separate components facility is planned in As Pontes, supporting the broader industrial footprint in the region.

MG says the investment could create more than 2,000 jobs in Europe, while local officials have cited even higher figures.

Details on the vehicle models and production method have not yet been disclosed.
