Dutch cloud providers join forces to create a sovereign alternative

Seven Dutch cloud providers have agreed to collaborate to offer a sovereign cloud alternative to foreign hyperscalers.

They plan to align technical infrastructures and standards to ease workload and data movement between providers.

The firms will assume each other’s customer obligations if control over one party becomes foreign, aiming to keep sensitive data in the Netherlands.

Regulators welcome competition-strengthening cooperation but will monitor to prevent price fixing or exclusion.
