Anthropic recruited SpaceX’s 220,000-GPU Colossus 1 to fix what Claude users kept complaining about

Anthropic is partnering with SpaceX to access Colossus 1, a massive Memphis data center with more than 220,000 GPUs and over 300 megawatts of compute.

The extra capacity will let Anthropic raise Claude Pro and Max limits, double Claude Code quotas, and remove peak-hour reductions for some users.

Anthropic also plans to increase API throughput for Claude Opus, easing rate-limit bottlenecks for developers.

The deal highlights the escalating AI compute race and the importance of securing large-scale infrastructure.
