Google Confirms New E2EE Android And iOS Gmail Encryption—With A Catch

Google says Gmail now supports end-to-end encrypted email on Android and iOS.

Users can compose and read E2EE messages in the Gmail app without extra apps or tools.

The feature is limited to Enterprise Plus license holders with Assured Controls or Assured Controls Plus.

A Gmail E2EE license lets users send encrypted messages to any recipient, regardless of address.

If the recipient uses Gmail, it arrives in the inbox; otherwise it can be read in a native browser. The change takes effect immediately.
