Google DeepMind takes a stake in EVE Online studio to test AI models

Google DeepMind has taken a minority stake in CCP Games, the studio behind EVE Online.

DeepMind will use a local offline server of EVE Online to test AI models in a complex, long-horizon environment.

CCP Games is buying back ownership from Pearl Abyss for $120 million and will rebrand as Fenris Creations.

The live Tranquility server will remain unchanged, while the move gives the studio a new ownership structure and strategy.
