Microsoft releases image generation AI 'MAI-Image-2.5', ranking third in the world for text-to-image generation

Microsoft has unveiled MAI-Image-2.5, the latest model in its in-house MAI image generation lineup.

The model ranked third in Arena’s text-to-image category, showing stronger scene understanding, image quality, and text rendering.

Microsoft says MAI-Image-2.5 will be available in MAI Playground within two weeks.

The release signals rapid progress for Microsoft’s image AI family and closer competition at the top of text-to-image benchmarks.
