Garry's Mod's "spiritual successor" s&box finally makes a profit after five years in development

Facepunch says s&box, its Source 2 successor to Garry’s Mod, turned its first profit in April 2026.

The project posted about $298,400 in profit on $1.1 million in gross income, after five years of development.

The milestone comes ahead of s&box’s April 28 release and signals the game is nearing launch.

Strong item sales and community creations helped drive the result, despite ongoing staff, server, tax, and platform costs.
