Apple Developing iPhone Anti-Theft Upgrade — But You May Need An Apple Watch, Too

Apple is reportedly testing an iPhone anti-theft feature that could detect snatch-and-grab thefts and lock the device automatically.

The system may use motion sensors plus Wi‑Fi, location, and proximity to a paired Apple Watch to confirm suspicious activity.

If rolled out, it could make stolen iPhones harder to access right away and strengthen existing stolen-device protections.

The feature is aimed at reducing damage from fast phone-snatching crimes in places like New York City and London.
