UK Visa Portal spilled thousands of applicants’ passports and selfies online — and hasn’t fixed the leak

TechCrunch reported that UK Visa Portal, an unofficial third-party site for visa applicants, was publicly exposing passport and selfie files.

At least 100,000 uploaded identity documents were affected, including sensitive images tied to U.K. visa applications.

The security flaw remains unresolved, and the company has not provided a direct management contact.

Applicants were advised to use the official GOV.UK site instead, as the exposure raises fraud and identity theft risks.
