Meta and Google get data from the app your boss uses to track you

A new study found that nine employee-monitoring apps shared worker data with outside services, including Meta, Google, and Microsoft.

The data included names, emails, company details, IP addresses, browsing history, and sometimes precise location.

Researchers warned this could fuel ad targeting, profiling, and other long-term privacy harms beyond the employer.

The findings highlight how workplace surveillance software can expose sensitive employee information to third parties.
