The Windows Command Prompt is getting faster, smarter, and a lot more modern

Microsoft released Windows 11 Insider Preview build 29558.1000 to the Canary channel with a major Command Prompt overhaul.

The update adds inline graphics (Sixel), OSC 52 copy, and an optional Atlas/Direct3D rendering path in conhost.

Performance, clipboard reliability, text rendering, Find regex support, and accessibility integration were improved.

The rollout starts with a subset of Insiders and will expand gradually; no timeline for stable release was given.
