AI Now Causing CEOs to Resign in Fear

CEOs James Quincey of Coca-Cola and Doug McMillon of Walmart said AI influenced their decisions to step down.

Quincey cited the need for a different leader for the next AI-driven wave after serving as CEO since 2017.

McMillon said he retired to pass the role to someone faster to lead AI-related transformations.

The companies face short-term challenges such as tariffs, inflation, and weak revenue growth while AI-driven gains are not yet evident.
