FBI Warns iPhone And Android Users—Do Not Install These Apps

The FBI issued a Public Service Announcement warning about data risks from foreign-developed mobile apps used in the U.S.

The bureau linked those risks to Chinese national security laws and said some apps store data on China-based servers.

The FBI warned apps can collect contacts and private data via granted permissions and may include malware or backdoors.

It advised users to disable unnecessary data sharing, use official app stores, update devices, change passwords, and read terms.
