Huawei's Tau Law Redefines Chip Scaling: Logic Folding as the Post-Dennard Path to 1.4nm

Huawei unveiled Tau Law, a new chip-scaling framework based on logic folding and reduced signal travel time.

The company says it has already applied the method in 381 chips over the past six years.

Huawei plans to debut the approach in a new Kirin smartphone processor this fall.

The firm also projects Tau Law could reach 1.4nm-equivalent density by 2031, offering an architecture-led alternative to traditional transistor shrinking.
