Xiaomi’s CEO showcases new-gen SU7 in teardown livestream, says orders exceed 40,000

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun hosted a more than three-hour livestream at the Beijing auto factory to break down the SU7 sedan’s components and safety features.

The event came as Xiaomi said the SU7 had surpassed 40,000 locked orders and more than 7,000 deliveries since March 23.

The teardown-style presentation was aimed at building consumer trust in the car’s design, battery safety, and production quality.

Strong early order momentum suggests Xiaomi’s EV launch is resonating with buyers as the company ramps up production.
