Draft enforcement decree for the ‘False Information Eradication Act’ unveiled...YouTube, Naver, Coupang and others affected

South Korea’s regulator released a draft enforcement decree for the revised network law, set to take effect on July 7.

Major platforms with 1 million or more daily active users would face reporting and transparency requirements.

The draft also allows up to 5x damages for monetized creators with large audiences in defined misinformation cases.

The rules could raise compliance burdens for platforms such as search, social, marketplace, and messaging services.
