You Need to Download This iOS 18 Update ASAP if You Aren't on iOS 26

Apple expanded availability of iOS 18.7.7 on April 1, 2026 to protect more devices from the DarkSword toolkit.

The update was first released March 24 for iPhone XS, XS Max and XR and can now be installed via Settings > General > Software Update.

Apple still recommends updating to iOS 26 for the strongest security, but iOS 18.7.7 protects devices that cannot run iOS 26.

Google reports DarkSword attacks in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Ukraine, and the toolkit was found on GitHub, raising reuse concerns.
