Ancient Footprints Suggest a Flying Predator Was Chasing Prey on Land

Fossil footprints in South Korea suggest a neoazhdarchian pterosaur chased a small land animal about 106 million years ago.

Researchers found two overlapping trackways: a small vertebrate speeding up and turning away, and a larger pterosaur following closely behind on all fours.

The pterosaur tracks were identified as a new genus and species, Jinjuichnus procerus.

The find offers rare clues about possible predator-prey behavior and how pterosaurs moved and hunted on land.
