Iranian Strikes Damage Amazon Web Services Cloud Infrastructure in Bahrain

An Iranian strike caused physical damage to AWS-related cloud infrastructure in Bahrain and sparked a fire at a company facility.

Bahrain's Interior Ministry reported the blaze and civil defense teams extinguished it, and the site is linked to Batelco in Hamala.

The IRGC had warned around March 31–April 1 it would target U.S. tech firms in the Middle East, and earlier March strikes hit AWS data centers in Bahrain and the UAE.

Amazon confirmed past disruptions, waived fees for some affected customers, but has not detailed the April 1 damage publicly.

The attacks raise concerns about the vulnerability of Gulf data centers that support regional banking, apps, and government services.
