Twins fired by a government contractor delete 96 government-related databases in retaliation

A federal jury convicted one of two brothers in a retaliatory insider cyberattack on government databases.

After being fired by contractor Opexus, the brothers allegedly infiltrated the company’s network and deleted 96 government-related databases.

They also copied EEOC files and other sensitive records, causing serious risk to public-sector data.

The other brother had already pleaded guilty, underscoring the scale of the insider-driven breach.
