Uber launches a campaign in Osaka with fares effectively on par with street hails, offering a "0 yen dispatch fee"

Uber Japan launched a limited-time campaign to waive Uber Taxi pickup fees in selected areas of Osaka Prefecture from July 27 to September 7.

Riders who choose eligible vehicles in the app can use the service at roughly the same price as hailing a taxi on the street.

The offer also applies to Uber for Business, with coverage in parts of Osaka City and nearby cities including Higashi-Osaka, Moriguchi, Sakai, Suita, and Yao.

The goal is to lower the psychological barrier caused by extra fees and encourage more people to use ride-hailing apps.
