TSMC accelerates 2nm expansion, targets record five-fab ramp in 2026

TSMC said it is speeding up advanced-node expansion, with five 2nm fabs expected to ramp in 2026.

The company said 2nm entered mass production in late 2025 and yield improvement has been strong despite the nanosheet design.

TSMC also said development of the A16 node with backside power delivery is progressing for AI and automotive applications.

The faster 2nm buildout points to rising demand from AI and HPC customers and could affect leading-edge chip supply and costs.
