Artemis II Update: NASA Crew Shares Earth Views — And Fixes Toilet

NASA’s Artemis II launched April 1, 2026, carrying four astronauts on a roughly 10-day test flight around the Moon and back.

On day one the Orion crew adjusted their elliptical Earth orbit with a 43-second engine burn and fixed a blinking toilet fault light with help from Houston.

Orion is scheduled to perform a 5 minute 49 second translunar injection burn to send the capsule toward the Moon, where it will travel farther beyond the far side than prior human missions.
