Google reportedly beats Apple to TSMC’s 2nm chip debut with Tensor G6

Leaks suggest Google’s Tensor G6 will be the first smartphone chip made on TSMC’s 2nm process.

The chip is expected to debut in the Pixel 11 series in August 2026, ahead of Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro.

If confirmed, this would end Apple’s long run as the first customer for TSMC’s newest leading-edge nodes.

The shift would mark a notable change in the balance of power in mobile chip competition.
