Tesla’s Texas factory workforce reportedly shrunk 22% in 2025

Tesla’s Austin factory headcount fell from 21,191 in 2024 to 16,506 in 2025, a 22% decline.

Tesla’s global workforce rose from 125,665 in 2024 to 134,785 in 2025 according to SEC filings.

Tesla has invested more than $6.3 billion in the Austin facility and moved its headquarters to the site in 2021.

The Austin plant opened in 2022 and has been one of the largest employers in the area since then.
