The Spaceballs sequel will be released in April next year

Amazon MGM Studios announced the Spaceballs sequel will open in theaters on April 23, 2027.

The announcement coincides with the roughly 40th anniversary of the original film.

Several original cast members are reported to reprise roles and new actors including Josh Gad and Keke Palmer will appear.

Josh Greenbaum is directing and Josh Gad, Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit are credited as writers.
