Iranian Hackers Said to Escalate Attacks on US Critical Infrastructure

US intelligence and law enforcement agencies issued an advisory saying Iranian-linked hackers have escalated attacks on internet-exposed operational technology.

The campaign targets programmable logic controllers used in water, energy and municipal systems and has affected PLC functionality and display data.

The advisory recommends disconnecting vulnerable controllers and was jointly authored by the FBI, NSA, CISA, Energy Department, EPA and US Cyber Command.
